I first heard about the 9/11 attacks a year after they happened, when we had to have a minutes silence for it at school, and even then no one explained it to me. The previous September I'd been away on holidays in Holland. Personally I don't see why we had to give a minutes silence to something that happened over in America a year earlier, when other massive losses of lives don't even make it to the evening news because they happen in a country with a funny name.
I remember when it happened
I was like, fucken 12 or something
We had "humanities" at school that day, and the teacher heard it on the news that morning
and she was like OH MY GOD HOW COULD SUCH A THING HAPPEN!
And we all had to write our feelings down on the blackboard,
many people wrote down things like "SADNESS" "SHOCK" "TRAGIC" "DISBELIEF"
I didnt write anything down because I didnt feel anything,
because:
1. I never heard of the twin towers before 9/11
2. It was in another country
3. I was fucking 12
And I bet most of the students just wrote down shit to please our fucked up humanities teacher who hated men and was an esotheric cuntflap in general.
And to be honest, I think it was a good reaction not to give a shit.
The people who do give a shit about it beat up Muslims and Sikhs (because they look like muslims) in the street, and vote for retarded right wing parties of fanatic fruitcakes.
